B. A product whose manufacturer has the ability to monitor the installation of your roofing system.
C. A product whose performance is backed-up with a proven track record.
D. A product whose contractor base is skilled in the installation
of your chosen roofing system. E. A product whose warranty limits your liability and commitments.
F. A product whose representatives are responsive, insured
and knowledgeable.
What you could get:
A. A product whose manufacturer will "rubber stamp" your design without a technical review.
B. A product whose manufacturer is located in Timbuktu and is unavailable to visit your job site.
C. A "me too" product.
D. A product whose contractor base is under trained and under skilled.
E. A product whose warranty is only as strong as the manufacturer who issues the warranty .
F. A product whose sales representative has little or no technical expertise.
Remember, price is only one criterion for selecting a roofing contractor. You should bid similar (same) products and systems so that the pricing is directly comparable.
Insist on a written proposal that includes the scope of work to be performed as well as products (brand names if possible) to be used.
Ask for and check references.
